This year, it is hard to talk about the best Oscar performances. Instead of the turning points and the latest trends we could see the array of predictable cuts.
Cuts, colours and styles of the Oscar dresses were as predictable as the verdicts of the academy. Only one gown took my breath away: Camila Alves (former model, becoming designer) looked absolutely stunning in Kaufman Franco gown.
Penelope Cruz was a minor surprise to me. Instead of the wide-stretching black dress she chose a modest, red L'Wren Scott adorned with sequins
After a flop during All about Steve première, Sandra Bullock, apparently has changed her stylist. This year, she stunned in Vera Wang's.
Halle Berry is made for wearing decadent dresses from Marchesa.
You can do wrong wearing Chanel. Michelle Williams knows it.
Amy Adams was also wearing L'Wren Scott. Neither dress nor the stylization were particularly interesting, yet connecting dark blue sequins with the jade jewellery was quite intriguing.
The youngest nominee Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) looked like a little princess in Marchesa dress.
After tracing the list of her best Oscar performances, Gwyneth Paltrow made herself aware her best and most sensational choice in the history was Calvin Klien. This year, she repeated the success with another CK dress.
Mila Kunis jis definitely a diva. She hit the red carpet in Elie Saab gown
Who won the Oscars night? British film King's speech. It was awarded four statuettes - for the Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, Art Direction and Best Actor.
Inceptionwon four Oscars (Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, Cinematography, Visual Effects). In my opinion, it still deserved two more - for the screenplay and for the best picture, because, in my opinion, the film by Cristopher Nolan beat other films. Possibly, however, not everyone understood it.
The overrated, in my opinion, the Social Network won three statuettes (Best Adapted Screenplay, Film Editing and Original Score).
