Fashion magazines without models on their covers?

It happens more and more often, that fashion magazines show actresses, singers and celbes on their covers. Why is that?
Is it strange that we expect the fashion magazine to devote greater attention to fashion, models and garments rather than to people who wear them?

Surely, placing a popular celeb on the cover, preferably the one who is lately most talked about, is the easiest thing to do in order to increase sales... For example Emma Watson who is playing in Harry Potter. The new part of the saga is coming out this month. Emma is a face of Burberry, but Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has a greater appeal than trench coats.

Cheryl Cole, who has recently undergone malaria, may also be a good reason to reach for the magazine. Her face is on the cover... does it mean that I will learn more about the course of her illness...?

When editors are running short of ideas for a cover, they can always count on Kate Moss. She is all present in tabloids... Clients know her, and they will definitely buy a magazine with her face, to get to know what's new in her life.

Is it not so, that a face of the actress or the singer on the cover is erasing the difference between fashion magazine and women's press? Whose face would encourage you for the purchase of the magazine - actresses' or models'?
